Mike Moore's SE5a - A catch up...of sorts

To be honest, for some reason I completely lost track of posting a log/blog for this model here.  So here are a few pictures to get everything caught up.

First...a couple cockpit shots...

The fuel management valve is scratch built from copper wire and brass tube.  Missing are the throttle and radiator shutter levers on the left, the compass in the center, and the starter magneto on the right.

And a few of the engine...

Spark plugs are brass tube and Vectorcut nuts, Ignition wires are copper wire, and guide tubes are brass tubing.  Oil intake tube is brass tube, oil delivery tubing on the front side of the cylinder banks are tin wire, and tachometer lead from right rocker cover is brass tube.  Hose clamps are fly fishing "midge tubing"...

An overall shot of the progress as of about a week ago...

And finally, a shot of where the paint job, including a trial run of Mike Rinaldi's "Oil Paint Rendering" on one side...

I'm working hard to get this wrapped up before October 1st so I can get it to at least one show before I have to deliver it to the guy who commissioned it.

Oh, as you may be able to tell...macro photography isn't kind!  On the other hand, it does give you an idea of what needs touching up, and if you can make it look GOOD in this type of photo...it will look fantastic with the naked eye!

That's about all for a couple of days...
